Welcome! We’re KARA, and our mission is to help people. To that end, we’re engaged in a number of projects right now:

• Info/supply stations - these are small boxes or baskets in publicly accessible places, such as businesses or community organizations, which we keep stocked with emergency contraception, pregnancy tests, condoms, lube, oral dams, period products, and informational zines about abortion access and community building.

• Free educational events - we’ve held several Abortion Pills Info Shares, where folks were able to learn how abortion pills work, how to get them, how to use them, and how to care for themselves or a loved one during the process.

• Pride festivals and mutual aid fairs - we tabled at all three Pride festivals in the county last year, plus a couple mutual aid fairs in Bremerton, had a blast, and are poised to do it all again in 2026! We’ll be answering questions and giving away info and sexual health supplies, plus fun stuff like buttons, stickers, pens, and candy. Test your knowledge with our Abortion Trivia Challenge (there are two sets of questions, one for kids and one for teens and adults).

• Practical support - while KARA doesn’t directly offer practical support, we’re connected with a confidential sister-group that does. We help them out with their digital security needs, and vet new volunteers.
